Terms of Service
Rivlet AI · rivlet.ai · Last updated: June 2026
Adapted from Automattic's Terms of Service (CC-BY-SA 4.0).
The gist
Rivlet AI builds on-device AI tools. These Terms describe your rights and responsibilities when using our services. Please read them. If you don't agree, don't use the service.
1. Who's who
“Rivlet AI,” “we,” and “us” refers to Rivlet AI, operating from Berkeley, California. “You” refers to the individual accessing the service. By using our service you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
2. Your account
Access during the closed beta is invite-only. You are responsible for your account security. You must be a human (no automated accounts), at least 13 years old, and provide accurate information. One account per person.
We may terminate or suspend access at any time, with or without cause. We will try to notify you by email if we revoke access for reasons other than violations of these Terms.
3. Minimum age
You must be at least 13 years old. If you are under 18, you represent that a parent or guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf.
4. Responsible use
Do not use the service to:
- Violate any law or regulation.
- Infringe the rights of others, including intellectual property or privacy rights.
- Transmit malware, viruses, or harmful code.
- Harass, threaten, or harm any person.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems.
- Interfere with or disrupt the service.
5. Your models and content
Models you create using the service are yours. Because all training happens locally in your browser, we do not store your model weights by default and make no claim of ownership over models you create.
If you share content through the service (such as a model published to the marketplace), you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free license to host, distribute, and display that content for the purpose of operating the service. You can remove shared content at any time, ending this license.
You represent that you have the rights to any content you use to train your models and that doing so does not violate any third-party rights.
6. Fees and payment
During the closed beta, access is free. We may introduce paid features in the future with advance notice before charging you. Prices and features may change; active users will be notified of material changes by email.
7. Intellectual property
The Rivlet AI name, logo, website, and service (excluding your content) are our intellectual property. These Terms do not grant you a license to use our trademarks. The underlying open-source substrate is separately licensed — see our SDK documentation.
8. Changes to the service
This is a beta. We may add, modify, or remove features at any time. If we make material changes to these Terms, we will notify you by email at least 7 days before they take effect. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
9. Disclaimer of warranties
The service is provided “as is” and “as available.” Rivlet AI makes no warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free. Use the service at your own risk.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Rivlet AI and its officers, directors, employees, and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages. Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the service will not exceed the greater of $100 or the amount you paid us in the 12 months prior to the claim.
Some jurisdictions do not allow exclusion of certain warranties or limitation of liability, so some of the above may not apply to you.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Rivlet AI from any claim or demand, including reasonable attorneys' fees, made by any third party arising from your violation of these Terms or your use of the service.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute will be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Alameda County, California. You consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts.
13. Miscellaneous
These Terms (together with our Privacy Policy) constitute the entire agreement between you and Rivlet AI regarding the service. If any provision is found invalid, the remaining provisions remain in full force. Our failure to enforce any right is not a waiver. These Terms do not create third-party beneficiary rights.
